These Photos were all taken on my last day in Tanga - the school had come a long way since we first started, though not everything was completed. Steven has promised to send updates via email soon, so hopefully I'll have something more to show in the future. This is how the school looked as of mid-January:
This Fundi is putting new mesh wire into the windows to replace the torn mosquito netting that was there before. The window frames had also been painted with brown paint, and you can see how the inside and outside of the building have been painted blue.
All the desks are pushed into the centre of the room so the walls could be painted.
This guy is finishing the concrete floor in the storage room at the back of the building.
The exterior wall at the back of the building has been smoothed over with concrete & plaster and is ready to be finished. There's a worker inside the small children's bathroom preparing the walls and floor to be tiled too.
No more barbed wire! The old fence was being torn down so the perimeter of the school property could be leveled in preparation for the new chain-link fence.
The adult washroom now has running water - a tap and a shower! This fundi is finishing the concrete floor and smoothing over the walls so they can be plastered and painted.
