Steven's Students wanapendeza sana

How beautiful are these little ones? The best part about helping Steven renovate his school was knowing that these adorable little "babies" - as Steven calls them - would be going to school in a much cleaner, safer and healthier environment. With running water and proper plumbing in the washroom, Steven can now teach the kids about proper hand-washing and hygiene. The rusty potentially tetanus-infecting barbed wire fence is now a thing of the past, and now the students will be learning in brighter, cleaner classrooms. The new floors will be much easier to clean and the fresh coat of paint will hopefully create a more cheery atmosphere than the old drab exposed brick. The soccer balls I left with Steven will keep the kids running around their newly fenced school yard too :)

These are just a few of the little ones who attend Steven's school and they all have such different little personalities...

Can you tell by the angles that I was being mobbed and surrounded as I quickly snapped their portraits? There was a lot of this:

The students are all saying "THANK YOU EVERYBODY [in] CANADA FOR HELPING [our] SCHOOL!!!" in this photo. Video to come...

So glad we were able to help. It was especially nice knowing at the money we gave you went directly to the project. The kids are amazing!
